Red Oak Chisel Mallet

For this project, I use a scrap piece of 4”x4” Red Oak I had in the shop. I mark the centers on each end and center it up, mounted on my wood lathe. I then turn down the shape I want and sand the entire mallet from 60 grit through 220 grit. I then remove it from the lathe, cut off the ends on the band saw, sand the ends, and apply 4 coats of spray Lacquer.
