First and foremost, a website is a great way to showcase all of your completed projects and store them in one place. Posting pictures is a great way to showcase the quality of work you do. In fact, consider posting multiple pictures of the same project. Include multiple angles, lighting options, and your projects in different environments. If you do many different styles of projects, post them all! It may be helpful to categorize your different project styles into groups as this will help the viewer easily follow your page. After all, this is YOUR website and this is your chance to show off. You do great work, so show it off!
About
An about page is key to a small business. If you’re like out of us, you’re a one-person shop. When it comes to small businesses, the business owner is an obvious huge part of the business. Posting an About Us page on your website will allow visitors to get to know you. When customers feel like they know you, trust you, and have a relationship with you, they are more likely to consider doing business with you. Consider posting a brief story of how you originally got into the art of woodworking, how you learn and develop your skills, and the type of work you enjoy doing. If you have some pictures of you or your family you would like to post, do it! Again, anything that can help the visitor gain a comfortability level with you will likely help you secure a paying customer from your site.

A contact page is arguably the most important page on your website. After all, one of the purposes of your website is to gain clientele. The contact page of your website can include a simple contact form in which visitors can send you a message with their name and email included. If you continually get an increased amount of website inquiries, consider making the form more elaborate. You can include form fields for the details of the potential client’s project. This will help you get a better understanding of their wants and needs before you ever even reply to their form submission. Being more educated and already having a mild plan of their needs and wants before contacting them for the first time will build a level of trust with the customer. You may also decide to post links to your social media pages, phone number for them to call you, and your email address. If you do have a physical location, consider posting your shop address and invite website viewers to visit your shop in person!

Posting your social media links to your website serves mobile device customers that aren’t always truly surfing the web. If someone stumbles upon your website, they may only return to your site once in awhile. However, if you can drive them to your social media pages, they may return to your social media profiles everyday. If you post on a consistent basis on your social media pages, you can get in front of the customer’s eyes more regularly than your website. Most people get on social media daily, while not everyone goes to a dedicated website everyday. Consider posting on your social media platforms consistently and often to gain attention of your viewing audience.

Having an email signup form on your website is yet another way of engaging with your audience. Be careful with email forms however, as they can be considered spammy if not used correctly. A good way to capture emails through your form is to offer a lead magnet. A lead magnet is something you give to your audience for free in exchange for their email address. Once you are able to build an email list, consider emailing coupon codes, discounts for your work, and more through a well-designed email marketing template.
